The kitchen is such an amazing size- it's so perfect for hosting! For a big birthday we managed to fit 30 friends for a sit down dinner, it was the happiest chaos! On summer evenings you can open up the huge back doors and let people spill into the garden, and if you're cooking people can gather around the huge kitchen island. We've had cosy Christmas's hosting family with the wood-burner on and carols at St Annes church. From the loft you see spectacular sunsets and fireworks across Bristol!
The home
A well-proportioned Victorian terrace at 68 Carlyle Road, Greenbank, offering generous family accommodation across three floors, including a loft bedroom, and extending to a generous 156 square metres in total. Carlyle Road is a particularly sought after address, and this end of the street is especially prized for its elevated position and south west facing aspect, which brings glorious sunset views out over the city on a clear evening. A cheerful yellow front door and bay window give the house plenty of kerb appeal on this popular residential street.
Entrance is through a central hallway with original stairs rising to the upper floors. To the front, the living room is a warm, characterful space centred on an original fireplace, with a piano tucked into one corner and built in shelving flanking the chimney breast. A large bay window brings in plenty of natural light, and the room comfortably takes a full seating area alongside the piano, making it a genuinely sociable spot.
To the rear, the kitchen/diner is the real heart of the home, a bright, open plan space lit by two roof lights overhead. It's fitted with painted sage green cabinetry, oak worktops, a freestanding range cooker and open shelving, with a large island providing plenty of prep space and room for stools. Glazed doors open straight onto the garden, and there's room here for both a dining table and a separate seating area, making it a natural spot for the whole family to gather.
On the first floor, two well proportioned double bedrooms, each with warm wood flooring and their own distinct character, one with fitted shelving and artwork, and a walk in wardrobe, the other calm and restful with garden views. The family bathroom is a good sized space, finished in soft green tiling.
The loft occupies the whole of the second floor, a bright and characterful room with sloped ceilings and a Velux skylight, currently arranged as a bedroom but equally suited to a home office or teenager's retreat given its scale. It benefits from its own ensuite, and from up here the elevated, south west facing position really comes into its own, with wide rooftop views out across Greenbank and beyond, and front row seats for the sunset.
The home is offered with no onward chain.
The outside space
The rear garden is a green, established spot, reached directly from the kitchen/diner, with a path winding through mature planting and hedging, giving it a relaxed, well loved feel.
