"This house has been a real sanctuary. I love my morning routine of waking up and walking around the lake in St. George's Park with a cup of tea, which is only a 2 minute walk away. In the Summer I run up through the cemetery and over Trooper's Hill down to Conham River which is nice for a dip if the weather's hot. At the same time it is the perfect hub for Bristol culture like the Easton Punk Festival. City life but surrounded by nature, the best of both worlds."
The house
This beautifully presented two-bedroom Victorian terrace on Richmond Road has been thoughtfully restored, creating a home that blends classic period character with a calm, contemporary feel. Original features have been carefully preserved, while use of colour, texture and modern finishes gives each room its own personality without losing sight of its period charm.
The living room at the front sets the tone with sage green walls, parquet flooring, a ceiling rose, a log burner in the original fireplace, and full-height alcove shelving painted to match. The bay window is a lovely feature & brings in a good amount of natural light. The space flows naturally into the second reception room, where reinstated panelling, a painted black ceiling with ornate cornicing and a mosaic-tiled hearth add further character. French doors open directly onto the garden, making this a great social space that works just as well for everyday living as it does for entertaining. The kitchen sits at the rear of the house, fitted with light blue shaker units, brass hardware, and a bold geometric splashback that ties it all together.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is a great size — a generous double which has a bay window with far-reaching views over East Bristol, original floorboards, and a dark teal feature wall with fitted wardrobes to match. The second double bedroom has lovely views over the garden and ample space for storage. The unusually spacious bathroom is another highlight of the property, with a freestanding roll-top bath, separate walk-in shower with rainfall head, teal lower panelling, patterned floor tiles, and a heated towel rail.
The outside space
The garden is a good size for the area with space for a lawn, raised beds along one side, and a paved area near the back door for morning coffee or evening meals in the summer. There's also a useful outbuilding at the rear for storage.
