“This has been a home of firsts for us. Our first flat, our first garden where summer BBQs stretched long into the evenings. We got married while living here, and last year we brought our baby home. It’s been the perfect place to begin our life together. The location has been everything we hoped for - especially being able to slip out through the back gate to find ourselves moments from Victoria Park. Since we arrived in 2021, this end of Bedminster has blossomed with new restaurants, shops, and bars, giving the area an energy and community we’ve loved being part of. We’re sad to have outgrown our lovely home, but we know it will be just as special for whoever calls it home next.”
This home
A charming and thoughtfully arranged one-bedroom garden flat with well-balanced proportions, stylish interior and a wonderfully sociable layout in the heart of Bedminster. Set across the ground floor of an attractive period building, this home unfolds from a communal hallway into a number of light-filled spaces. The living room sits to the front of the property with a bay window raised above street level, where soft natural light highlights stripped floorboards and high ceilings. To the middle of the home is a spacious double bedroom with a peaceful feel and ample room for freestanding storage. At the rear, the home opens into a characterful kitchen/breakfast room fitted with shaker-style cabinetry, open shelving and wooden worktops, with a breakfast bar. Beyond this, a conservatory-style dining area brings versatility equally suited to entertaining, working from home or simply enjoying views out to the garden. The bathroom has been stylishly updated with tasteful tiling and a shower over bath.
Outside
The property benefits from a raised front garden, adding both privacy and greenery to the approach. To the rear the conservatory opens onto a private terrace, an ideal spot for outdoor dining and entertaining. There are steps leading up to a mature garden enjoying a sunny aspect. Richly planted and well-established, the garden offers a sense of seclusion and space so close to the city. There is also potential to create off-street parking to the rear, subject to any necessary consents.
Living in Bedminster
St Johns Lane is placed between Bedminster and Windmill Hill, having the perfect combination of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants, as well as open green spaces. Towards Bedminster, there is the vibrant North Street, housing a diversity of independents, such as the Albatross Cafe, the highly regarded Kask, as well as Oowee Diner. On from this, the Tobacco Factory, a cultural hub of South Bristol, is just a 20-minute walk away with a great lineup of shows. Just a small walk away from North Street, you will find yourself at Wapping Wharf, with amazing eateries including Junction, Root, and Seven Lucky Gods. Towards the east of the house, you come across the vast Victoria Park, which is a hive of activity for families, joggers, and those looking to socialise. For commuters and young professionals, the house is also well-located, within walking distance of the City Centre and Temple Meads Station and major employers around the Harbourside and Temple Quay. The area also has some well-regarded shops, cafes, and pubs, such as The Victoria Park and Park Bakery, with the popular shops and cafes of Totterdown just a short walk away.
