"We love our home: the peaceful garden enclave, the spaciousness, how it lends itself to hosting. Warm and cosy in the winter, and wonderfully bright in the summer. This has been a special, happy place to raise our young family."
The Home
This beautiful semi detached family house is on one of the most popular streets in Fishponds. With an off street parking space to the front, the main front door to the house is on the side of the building and opens into a welcoming entrance hall with the large reception room on one side and the open plan kitchen dining room to the other. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms the master of which has an en suite shower room, a family bathroom, and a snug office/ baby room. Being a semi detached Victorian house this house benefits plenty of period charm, high ceilings and an abundance of natural light.
The Garden
From the kitchen, sliding doors open onto the private, spacious rear garden which offers plenty of green space, a deck positioned to get the best of the sun, as well as a patioed area. There is a versatile office room in the garden as well, which, along with the rest of the garden can be accessed without coming through the house. Without doubt the garden of this property is a key selling point of the home.
Living In Fishponds
This home is situated on Grove Road, in the Thingwall Park area of Fishponds which is on the edge of expansive green space surrounding the Frome Valley. The open feel to the area is rarely found in such a relatively central city location with an abundance of greenery, trees and wildlife on the doorstep for residents of this area. The area has a strong sense of community with several local events and groups to join. Eastville Park is home to a range of facilities including tennis courts and a bowls green as well as indoor community space. Just beyond Eastville Park, a short walk away is also Greenbank, home to the popular Greenbank Cemetery, great for exploring, but also home to some brilliant independent shops and cafes like Este’s and Matter Wholefoods. Fishponds has seen several cafés established nearby, becoming very popular, such as Mi Cafe Su, The Crafty Egg and FED. Snuffy Jacks is a great local micro-pub on the Fishponds Road high street whilst Irish pub The Star, a five-minute walk from the property, is a well-regarded historic venue, home to live music and the accolade of ‘best pint of Guinness in Bristol’. For commuters, Fishponds is very convenient with ease of access to the M32 and M4 motorways, as well as just being a short cycle, drive or bus journey into the city centre or to large areas of employment across North Bristol. The area benefits from several tarmacked cycle paths which provide traffic free routes into the City Centre, or out towards the suburbs, or to Keynsham and Bath via the Bristol to Bath cycle path.
