Henleaze House,
13 Harbury Road,Westbury-on-Trym
Bristol

"We bought our house as a Victorian two-up, two- down, 53 years ago. Built in 1896 we are only the second owners! Over the years it has grown to become a comfortable 4-up, 4-down, family house, set back from the road, with a large garden and patio, rare in Clifton, that we only realised we had after we had cleared the 6 feet tall brambles which covered the whole site.
We love our house and are sad to leave. The location is ideal; an easy walk from Clifton Village, the Triangle and University, local schools, the Docks, Park Street and the City Centre via leafy Brandon Hill which is right opposite us. We hardly have to use the car. If you enjoy city life, surrounded by greenery - it's perfect. "
The home
An extended Victorian Terrace perched up away from the street with a magnificent wrap around garden, one of the biggest in the area. Downstairs there is an open plan reception room as you enter and a kitchen with plenty of space for dining and casual seating that leads onto the terrace. There is also a utility room and downstairs loo. Upstairs are four double bedrooms (one with en-suite) and a further family bathroom).
Outdoor space
The house has a large sunny patio at the front accessed directly from double doors in the kitchen and plenty of mature shrubs and trees to the front. At the side is a huge private lawn with historic wall surrounding it.
Living in Clifton and Hotwells
Hotwells is a historic part of Bristol whose name derives from the hot springs which bubble up through the rocks of the Avon Gorge underneath the Clifton Suspension Bridge and features many beautiful Georgian-listed buildings, and Victorian Terraces.
Through the charming historic little lanes, a short walk up the hill is Clifton Village, with its highly-regarded restaurants, and independent shops. New restaurants and cafe's such as Kibou and Mercy Mercy Mercy strike a pleasant contrast to the well-established and ever-popular Coronation Tap, Portcullis Pub, and beautiful views of the Avon Gorge Hotel.
Hotwells is also conveniently located close to Bristol City Centre and the rapidly expanding Bristol Harbourside which has attracted a number of large employers and makes for a beautiful evening stroll or drinks on the water, at the Grain Barge.
