"We have loved our twelve years living on Redcatch Road. Considering that you are only 2 1/2 miles from the City centre, it's incredibly leafy up here. St Saviour's cherry blossom greets us in Spring, then the mature sycamores and beeches make the front a wall of green in summer. We star watch from the back garden, which faces South East. Because we are high up on a ridge, the City's light pollution is below us. You can see the fields on top of the Dundry hills change colour with the seasons from the rear bedroom bay windows. We are blessed with parks to walk our dog, with Redcatch Park and community garden being only 5 mins away, Perretts for Balloon watching 10 mins and Victoria Park 10 mins also. Having no houses opposite at the front also gives us a sense of privacy. We hope that the next family to live here will enjoy this warm, cheerful, light filled house as much as we have. The bay windows at the back keep the place warm in winter, so we don't often need to put the heating on, although we enjoy our traditional open fire on winter evenings."
The house is situated on Redcatch Road, on the part of the road very close to Redcatch Park, as well as being within walking distance of the Wells Road. One of the real benefits of this house is the number and variety of parks and green spaces and children’s play areas within a short distance. Redcatch Park and Community Garden, Perretts Park and Arnos Vale Cemetery with its popular Café are all within 10 minutes walk from the property. The expansive Victoria Park and Callington Road Nature Reserve are also nearby, providing brilliant open spaces for the summer or for walking the dog all year round. The area is easily commutable from Bristol City Centre, approximately 30 minutes walk, a short cycle or bus journey down Wells Road. The area also has abundance of amenities on the doorstep with the Wells Road recently becoming home to more and more popular bars, cafes and restaurants, such as Nook run by the successful Fox & West just further down Wells Road. The Knowle Pub is just a short walk away and is a great spot for a Sunday lunch or a beer in the garden, whilst The Victoria Park and Southside are also great places to enjoy on an evening.
This light-filled 1930s mid-terrace house features classic bay windows at both the front and rear, creating a bright and airy feel throughout. The ground floor boasts a generous open-plan reception and dining area, complete with an original 1930s fireplace and rear bay with French doors that open onto a beautiful garden. The kitchen, located at the rear, retains its original metro tiles and offers a lovely view of the garden. Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms, two spacious doubles and a smaller third bedroom alongside a family bathroom.
The rear garden is a peaceful oasis and unusually large for the area, featuring a substantial patio and a variety of mature shrubs and trees. At the end of the garden, there’s a workshop/garage with rear lane access, providing flexibility for storage, hobbies, or parking.
